Kickstarter-Projekt: Der ultimative Geschäftskalender

In Der lineare Wandkalender hatte ich schon darüber berichtet, aber ob The Ultimate Calendar for running a business der ultimative Kalender ist, weiß ich nicht. Er ist aber auf jeden Fall ein interessanter Ansatz. Ein langer vertikaler Kalender, der als Planungsinstrument dient:

[…] “Clocks represent time as cyclical, typical calendars represent it as a grid, but the passing of time is continuous,“ says Jeff Schwarting, the calendar’s designer. The uninterrupted days let workers visualize the passing of time between events, deadlines, and goals. […]

Inspiriert wurde der Entwurf durch Kalender, die der Designer früher auf Whiteboards gemalt hat:

[…] The Linear calendar was inspired by a whiteboard, that Schwarting and his former colleagues used to create timelines and business plans. […]

Der Kalender ist ca. 180 cm lang. Das zugehörige Kickstarter Projekt ist schon beendet. Sein Slogan beschreibt den Kalender kurz mit

[…] The first calendar to depict an entire year on a single, uninterrupted timeline. […]

Ihr könnt den Kalender mittlerweile für 35 USD auf der Homepage des Projektes unter http://www.thelinearcalendar.com/ vorbestellen. Eine schöne Idee, um Meilensteine des Lebens in einer langen Zeitreihe darzustellen.

Kickstarter-Projekt: Der lineare Wandkalender

The Linear Calendar ist ein Kickstarter Projekt für Freunde analoger Wandkalender. Zum Zeitpunkt der Artikelerstellung ist das Finanzierungsziel von 1000 USD mehr als 14-fach übertroffen. Um was geht es?

[…] The Linear Calendar defies conventional calendar design in order to conform to our natural perception of time. Instead of breaking time into a grid format and separating it into multiple pages, we’ve created the Linear Calendar to portray an entire year on a single, uninterrupted timeline.
This creates a wonderfully natural sense of time, clearly and visually communicating how many days, weeks, or months between any given dates. Weekends are shaded in light grey and months are separated by a thin black line, transforming breaks in time from mere data to spatial information. The calendar is roughly 6’6″ x 8″ and will be printed on gloss poster-stock with a matte finish by a fantastic local printer. […]

Der Kalender wird also fast zwei Meter breit und ca. 20 cm hoch sein. Eine schöne Idee, die Zeit als Zeitstrahl (linear!) darzustellen. Das ist eine schöne Darstellung für laufende Dinge oder eine Darstellung von Zeitpunkten auf einer Zeitachse, die nicht durch Monate oder Wochen gerastert ist.
