Die Ausstellung in London ist leider schon vorüber, aber man kann ein passendes Buch erwerben, das in einer extrem limitierten Ausgabe erhältlich ist. Die Briefe könnt ihr alle auf der Homepage einsehen (horizontal scrollen!).

Wer Notizbuchkunst mag, selbst welche erstellt und gerne auch mal an einem Wettbewerb teilnimmt, der sollte scih Escape into Life ‘skine Project anschauen.:

We invite artists and writers to fill up a Moleskine journal expressly to sell in the Escape into Life online store. Everyone buys a journal of the same size and style [...] The journals are filled with cut outs, drawings, writing, poetry, art, a fusion, a scrapbook of the mind. The Medium is the journal and sold as a work of art. This project is ongoing. No due date. Just everyone has to use the same journal size and color.

Escape into Life ist ein Web Magazin für Kunst und Kultur. Die Idee basiert auf einer Art Bürgerjournalismus, mit dem man ein Magazin mit Lyrik, Essays und Kunst füllen möchte.

1000 Notizbücher auf Reisen

Gestern habe ich von Reisenden Notizbücher, einem Trend in der Notizbuchkunst berichtet. Heute möchte ich ein weiteres Projekt aus dieser Kategorie vorstellen: The 1000 journals project:

The 1000 Journals Project is an ongoing collaborative experiment attempting to follow 1000 journals throughout their travels. The goal is to provide a method for interaction and shared creativity among friends and strangers.
How it Works: Those who find the journals add something to them. A story, drawing, photograph, anything really. Then they pass the journal along, to a friend or stranger, and the adventure continues.

Nicht alle der 1000 Notizbücher sind wieder aufgetaucht: Nummer 114 und 194 werden gesucht. Das Projekt hat einiges an Presse erhalten und das zurecht. Viele der Notizbücher kann man online durchblättern und wer gar nicht genug davon bekommen kann, kann sich auch ein Buch zum Projekt bestellen oder gar eine DVD. Und wie geht es weiter mit dem Projekt? Klar, mit dem 1001 Journals Project.

lookatbook.com – die Reise eines Notizbuchs im Namen der Kunst

Freund der Notizbuchkunst? Freund außergewöhnlicher Ideen? Dann wird mal einen Blick in die Seite lookatbook.com! Beim Klick auf das Buch der Startseite öffnet sich ein neues Browserfenster mit einer Flash Applikaktion, über die das Projekt präsentiert wird. Um was geht es?

For thirty-six weeks, a sketchbook was sent in random order between four artists: two in Brooklyn, two in Belfast.
Every Wednesday, one participant would receive book. In order to maintain schedule, it was sent out the following Monday, giving each artist five days to complete a spread in response to the one that preceded it.
A small portion of each entry extends on to the following page. Beyond this, there was no communication between the artists concerning the content of book during its making.
book’s first trip across the Atlantic was on 2 June, 2003. Its final trip was on 2 February, 2004. By the time it was completed, book had travelled over sixty thousand miles.

Wie so oft sind die einfachen Ideen die besten. Wenn Sie dann noch so professionell auf einer Webseite präsentiert werden wie hier, dann ist das natürlich wunderbar. Zudem gab es eine Ausstellung in schön hergerichteten Ausstellungsräumen. Sogar die Ausstellung kann man online “erwandern”. Im Online Shop gibt es eine Reproduktion und Drucke des Buches zu kaufen. Etwas Kleingeld sollte man allerdings mitbringen.

Sketchbook Project – Kunstereignis für Notizbuchkunst

Das Sketchbook Project ist ein US-amerikanisches Kunstereignis, das die Idee des Crowd Sourcing vom Internet auf die Kunst in Notizbüchern überträgt.

The Sketchbook Project: Library – Sketchbooks offers a glimpse into an artist’s life, which is why we want to make a publicly accessible library of sketchbooks that people can browse, peruse, and check out. We think that this sketchbook collection has the potential to open a new line of communication between the artist and the viewer, since the experience of making and viewing are both so personal. Anyone can sign up to receive a sketchbook. Before joining our permanent collection, sketchbooks will be exhibited at select galleries across the US
Project goal – The library will house thousands of sketchbooks from artists that reside all over the globe. We’ll be touring around the United States with the collection starting in April, followed by a permanent location for the library in 2010.
